Remaining positive and productive during the COVID-19 crisis

Remaining positive and productive during the COVID-19 crisis

Today I share a story about a very good friend of mine that will help you not only navigate these trying times but to succeed and thrive.

With COVID-19 the rules are changing all the time; not just in Victoria and NSW and Australia, but around the world.

We have to be flexible and change to not only survive, but thrive.

A good friend of mine had to self-isolate for 14 days and this does not come naturally to him, as he is a workaholic.

But once he learned he had to self-isolate he made a decision to be productive; he decided to paint the inside of his house.

He made his down-time productive and as agents you have two choices:

  1. To make your down time productive
  2. OR

  3. Waste your time during this pandemic

If you choose this second option what are you going to tell your grandchildren in 20 years time about what you achieved during this pandemic? Do you want to say at the end of this horrible pandemic “I achieved something great and was productive during the whole time” or “I used it as an excuse not to work“?

HOW TO MAINTAIN A POSITIVE AND PRODUCTIVE ATTITUDE DURING THE COVID CRISIS:

So let’s have a look at the attitude that my good friend Andrew used when he had to self-isolate. He has a wonderful can-do attitude all the time.

  1. He looked for the good in the situation.
  2. He found he could be productive.
  3. He did something he had been putting off.
  4. He got off his backside and got to work.
  5. He was happy and did not blame anyone.
  6. He took total responsibility for his situation.
  7. He made a decision to be happy and enthusiastic all the time.

APPLY THE FOLLOWING SEVEN PRINCIPLES TO YOUR REAL ESTATE CAREER RIGHT NOW:

  1. Look for the good.
  2. Make a decision to be productive.
  3. Do the tough task that you have been putting off.
  4. Get to work.
  5. Don’t blame anyone.
  6. Take total responsibility.
  7. In everything you do, act with enthusiasm.

Andrew once bought a farm through me which I had had trouble selling.

There were moss rocks all over the hill on the farm and most people wouldn’t buy it because of the rocks, but when Andrew saw this his face lit up.

He said enthusiastically “Look at the rocks! I can use them!

Instead of seeing the rocks as a problem he saw them as a opportunity, because one of his businesses is a landscaping business.

So ask yourself, do you see the rocks or do you find the opportunity?

For in every challenge there is an opportunity. You may have to look hard to find it, but it’s there.

Act boldly and unforeseen forces will come to your aid.
