Mindset and the market in real estate sales

Mindset and the market in real estate sales…

How’s the market?” a very common question in real estate. An agent recently replied: “Terrible and getting worse every day.”

This made me wonder how many salespeople think like this every day?

real estate salesMy first 12 years were in a market that was terrible and getting worse every day and I averaged 11 sales per month for these 12 years.

So if you have been infected with thinking like this, today I share with you how I was able to make many sales in a tough market.

The salespeople who get this wrong have what Zig Ziglar calls, “stinking thinking” and they come up with all the reasons why it’s nearly impossible to make sales in this market, and they either just survive or leave the industry feeling like a failure.

The salespeople who apply what I share with you today will not only survive, but thrive in this market. They have the combination to Fort Knox and the rivers of real estate gold flow to them.

Last week one of my clients got 2 listings and 2 sales by following what I am about to share with you.

How would 2 sales per week change your life?

Please work this out and then think about what this would mean for you and your family.

Is it going to be better? I hope your answer is “Yes, much better!

The first thing I want to share with you is:

1. Desire.
In this market you must have a burning desire to succeed, you can’t have a fallback plan.

Look at every failure as a learning experience.

Keep your eye on the prize and ignite your burning desire to succeed.

2. Excuses.
Get them out of your life and vocabulary.

Every time you start to make an excuse about why you didn’t get a listing, a price reduction or a sale, STOP IT and say I AM RESPONSIBLE.

When you take total responsibility the doors of prosperity open to you and you are on your way to greatness in real estate.

3. Get Better.
Instead of wishing the market were better, or things were easier, just GET BETTER at prospecting, listing, reducing and selling.

The more you improve your skills, the more money you will make, and the better you will feel about yourself.

When you are making sales and earning good money you feel great, when you are not you tend to make excuses about how tough the market is.

Imagine the Australian Cricket Team making excuses about why they lost a test match, what would you think of them? You would think they are weak and insipid, wouldn’t you?

Nobody like excuse makers.

What would you think if they blamed the ground or the weather? You would think, “Well, the other team played on the same ground and with the same weather and they won, yet you lost, so it’s just an excuse.”

They would not be taking responsibility for their loss.

So why is it in real estate that there are people like my clients, that are making two sales per week and others who are struggling to make 1 sale per month?

Because they have a burning desire to get better, they live without excuses and take total responsibility and are constantly improving their skills.

They also realised that they need help.

If you have the desire and are prepared to take total responsibility and would like to get to 2 sales per week then  – book a call with me. Always do your best.
