How being enthusiastic every day in your real estate career can help you produce a steady stream of prosperity

Have you ever had a time when everything seems to be going wrong:

• For instance, you don’t get the listing you were sure you would get.
• Or your sale falls over at the last minute and you were counting on it for your results and income.
• Or someone expresses their disappointment after you didn’t sell their property, and they sack you. They then list with your main competitor after you have worked really hard for them.

When you are getting swamped with problems, disappointments and setbacks, you have a choice:
• you can either wallow in self-pity (you will say things like “why me?”)
• or you can “look up” and be enthusiastic about the opportunities you have ahead of you…

What if you could wake up with enthusiasm every day and maintain a positive attitude throughout your life and career?

Wouldn’t that be a game changer for you?

Three tools for maintaining your enthusiasm throughout the year:

1. CYL: Cut your losses

When you are feeling down don’t focus on all the bad things.

Cut your losses and put all this behind you as it’s in the past and you can’t change what has happened.

Instead, learn from it and never see bad things as failure, see them as learning experiences.

2. Forward focus:

Focus on the bright, shining light of possibility in your future.

3. What can you change?

Focus on what you can change and not what you can’t change.

7 things that you can change:

1. Your thinking.

2. The way you act – be proactive. Remember motion creates emotion.

3. Get moving and look for new business.

4. Get out of your rut and make positive changes.

5. Speed up and do everything with enthusiasm.

6. Be enthusiastic, act enthusiastically.

7. Talk to people enthusiastically.

There is a wonderful guy named Dominic who I speak to every week.

One day he called me with the world upon his shoulders and when I shared with him that the only way out of his valley of despair was to look up and continue to look on the bright side of life, he was a changed man.

He has now attended Success in Real Estate and said he is well on his way to greatness once again as all he said he needed was a shot of enthusiasm.

If you are not feeling well, you go to the doctor and if they give you a prescription you take it, otherwise you are probably still going to feel sick.

The same happens in real estate; when things go bad and you feel sick about your career, what you need is a prescription of enthusiasm.

To get moving on results-producing activities, you must fulfil and take your prescription, and you will feel better.
