This week I want to share something that I am passionate about and that is phasing out prospecting in real estate sales. I bet that is something you thought you would never hear me say! I spend a lot of time helping people to master
prospecting in real estate sales just so that one day they won’t need to anymore.
Notice the words “phase out!”
- See, what if you were certain that your time prospecting was limited?
- What if you knew that it was temporary?
- What if you knew that every single result you were creating was leading to financial freedom?
I mean if we get this wrong it can be devastating. Often people fear rejection. The problem is they get into a cycle – they don’t prospect because they are fearful of rejection, then they don’t get any results, and the financial pressure comes and reinforces their fear, their motivation wanes, they still refuse to prospect, and they still get no results.
But what if you could just “know” that it is temporary? How would that feel if you could follow in the path ways of those who had done it before you? Pretty good right?
See a client of mine started his real estate office in 2012 and prospected hard for about 14 months. He achieves incredible results and no longer needs to prospect. He is too busy listing and selling!
Now I’m going to share 3 hot principles that he used to achieve this:
1. Work to a plan
Neil came to me and I shared with him the same plan that I used to build 20-30 phone in enquiries to my office per month. You must have a plan – I share this on my

2. Develop good direct mail to your area
I had a cycle of marketing pieces that I distributed every month to my area. You must do this. You can be the agent who just appeared at the right time by doing this – how valuable is that?
3. Pure hard work for the short term
Neil knew that he had to make it work, so he worked! He worked hard, safe in the knowledge that he would be a success. He knocked on hundreds of doors, he spoke with thousands of people – he just did it, because I told him it works, you just have to trust.
Wouldn’t it be great to
- a) Know that prospecting is temporary
- b) Know that every day is taking you closer to huge results?
