Listening to your clients is one of the most important things you must do in real estate sales.
It sounds too simple but it is something that when mastered helps you make more and more sales. Have you ever been speaking with someone and they are looking over your shoulder making facial expressions at someone else? How does that make you feel? It’s terrible isn’t it?
We can not afford to ever make our clients feel terrible so we must focus on them and their needs. Further than that – listening is the way to get through to absolutely anyone. ever had a tough personality at a listing presentation? listening is the best remedy.

1. Face the speaker
2. Be attentive but relaxed
3. Keep an open mind
4. Listen tothe words and try to envisage what they are saying
5. Don’t interrupt and don’t impose your solutions
6. Wait for the speaker to pause to ask clarifying questions. ‘How do you mean?’
7. Ask why only to ensure understanding
8. Try to feel what the speaker is feeling
9. Give the speaker regular eye contact
10. Pay attention to what isn’t said: non verbal cues

12. DO NOT CHECK YOUR PHONE!
