Three personality traits the world needs during the coronavirus pandemic

Three personality traits the world needs during the coronavirus pandemic

Amongst all the news on the coronavirus I heard the story of a 93 year old lady, which really lifted my spirits.

As a child she survived the Auschwitz concentration camp, but lost her entire family.

Her message to the world was to not get too concerned about things because after it rains the sun always shines.

Wow! What an outlook.

I just know something good is going to come once this pandemic is over.

But we have to live through it and survive.

I truly believe there are three personality traits the world needs during the coronavirus pandemic.

1. Empathy

Most of our family, friends, clients and customers are fearful about the uncertainty of the future, while there are others who are not taking this coronavirus seriously.

To be empathetic, listen and hear the concerns of others without buying into all the negativity.

You need to be the light at the end of the tunnel.

My wife was talking to someone who was getting paranoid about the coronavirus.

He kept going to his doctor.

Do you know what his doctor prescribed? To stop watching the news.

2. Confidence

But, how can we have confidence now with all this uncertainty?

The way to do this is to change the way you think and pivot towards the good.

During this time you can stay in touch by calling all your clients; that’s vendors, buyers and people you have in your database and further develop your relationship with them.

When you endure this terrible virus together, your relationship will get stronger and they will consider you not only as their agent, but their loyal friend.

A caring call means much more than an email.

3. Leadership

We mustn’t allow people to lose hope.

Show positive leadership and find ways to sell homes, even now.

I had a call from Chrissi Haar today and she said “I didn’t let the fires beat me and I won’t let this Virus beat me either”. She has listed two properties this week. That’s the spirit!

Please stay safe and follow the guidelines and I trust we all come through this safely together.
