Everyone has ups and downs in real estate so it’s important to bullet proof your attitude to make sure that no time is wasted.
When things are good in real estate sales, they are great and when things are bad, they are terrible.
The busier you get, the more highs and lows you will have.
The people who dwell in pity parties and blame others and their current situation will never achieve much from a career in real estate.
But the people who take total responsibility for everything in their lives thrive, even when things are not turning out the way they had hoped.
They lose a listing, a buyer cools off, or their best friend’s mother lists with their competitor and they have the ability to focus and continue on and make more sales.
A client of mine Andre got some buyers up $290,000 to the vendors asking price and now they need to sell their home.
He went to the listing presentation and is now devastated that they have not chosen him as their agent.
I spoke to him tonight and this is what I instructed him to do.
1. Use the most powerful word in these situations; NEXT.
Get it out of your system and then move onto the next thing you have some control over.
2. Settle down and focus on what’s good for the sellers and buyers.
By putting their needs before your own you will make more sales.
If you put yourself under too much pressure this will be felt by the sellers and buyers.
3. Stop thinking about yourself.
Focus on others’ needs and which will help you to have a wonderful bullet proof attitude and the sales and listings will flow.
So to sum up the three ways to keep your bullet-proof attitude are:
1. Focus on the next positive thing you can achieve.
2. Put the sellers and buyers needs before your own.
3. Stop thinking about yourself to serve the sellers and buyers well and take care of their wants and needs.
You will feel wonderful and the results will flow from the positive mental attitude you have created.
It’s like the paramedic who puts themselves before others.
They will have a lot of casualties and won’t keep their job. The paramedics who are fantastic at their job and put others needs before their own, save many lives.
The same thing applies in your career in real estate. If you become a real helper instead of always thinking “what’s in it for me?” then you will turn any negative situation around and become a great success in real estate.
Help someone today who cannot benefit you in anyway and you will feel great.
If you want to use the system that I used to average 12 listings and 11 sales per month, then you should consider attending the next Success in Real Estate, which is being held in February in Sydney.
At Success in Real Estate I show you exactly what to do every day to become unstoppable and how to get to the top in real estate so that in ten years from now you will have financial freedom and have the choice to work or not.
