Hello everyone, so last week I shared with you the real estate agent calculator that I used to get me back on track after a period of poor performance.
But I also stressed the importance of RIGHT NOW in real estate sales. See we are in a time when there is more competition for positions in sales and it is imperative that you perform so that you remain valuable to your company, also we are seeing great growth in a lot of areas and we need to be mindful of these market conditions and capitalise on them while they are here.
So today I want to share with you the questions I used to re-focus my life and my career. Now these questions help you uncover why you are doing what you do, and what your motivation is, so that you can re-stoke your fire and get going again.
You have two options for this. Either you are self-motivated and you can do this exercise, and check back every now and then to stay on track, or you would like some reminders to stay on track. If this is the case, please email your answers through directly to me at michaelkies@kies.com.au and I will touch base every now and then to check in and keep you motivated. I will keep all your details completely confidential. I care about you and your results and I want to see you do well.
So you’ve all heard my story, I struggled for a long time in sales, I just couldnt get the results that I needed to keep my boss happy. I was working hard, away from my family but I saw no financial reward for it.
So I made a plan and clawed my way out of it and went on to win awards internationally for my results. I could hardly believe it when I stood up there accepting that award – looking back at how far I had come.
So no matter where you are in the process, whether you are winning awards yourself, making some sales, or struggling, this is the plan I used throughout, so it will apply at all levels.
We need to start at the start – last week we talked about your finances and “what you need to do” eg cover your expenses.
This week we are going to talk about “what you want to do and why?”
These are some of the questions that can help you to really uncover the reasons why you do this and exactly what your dreams are. Spend some time on this really think about your answers, this is a special time in your life and you need to take the time to think it through.
We will deal only with your career today, but I believe that you should write all goals at the same time, so that you can have an overall picture of what you want. I have a course coming up later that I will tell you about where we will do just that.
Q 1: What is the main thing that makes you lose focus on success?
Q 2: When you have a tough task to do, what stops you from doing it?
Q 3: What is your major fear in your career?
Q 4: What is the one thing that gets you out of bed in the morning?
Q 5: Name a time when you had a tough task to do, and you did it? How did you feel afterwards? What motivated you to do it?
Q 6: How can you evoke that same feeling of emotion in your daily life? What brings it forward?
Q 7: What visual cue could you use to bring that emotion forward to drive your motivation?
So it’s a great time to be in real estate, with interest rates low and the market warming up, so I would strongly suggest you use the last two videos to get your motivation up and then attend the teleconference on Tuesday and come away with a blueprint to remain front of mind in your area.
